What makes a man...?

In bend Oregon, fairly close to where I live, a teenager apparently stabbed himself to death during an open mic night at a local coffee house.Citation

It really makes me wonder what this man's thought process was like. Killing ones self is, in itself, an act that requires deep emotion disturbance in the mind of the 'victim.' The fact that he chose to do it in a theatrical, straight-out-of-a-horror-movie way makes the act that much more surreal.

Seeing as how people generally dislike pain and suffering, usual acts of suicide attempt to avoid this stimulus. Stabbing is a painful way to die, something the public doesn't see often; making this suicide all the more disturbing.

Not sure if this story is overly relevant to the blog, but it caught my eye. It's now a post, regardless.

First!

I've debated it for a while, and I've decided to try blogging. I don't expect anyone to follow me, not that that matters; the popularity aspect of blogging doesn't interest me. I'll probably be 'journaling' my thoughts, so to speak, from time to time.

Well it's late, and to be honest...the sole reason for this entry was the fact that my front page looked desolate. Now it looks like a wall of text amongst a background of desolateness. Nevertheless, it's an entry.

Goodnight.
